Premier Health Care, Inc. is a privately owned home health care agency. We are fully licensed, bonded and insured as a non-medical agency. Our mission is to provide the highest quality in-home care, tailored individually to meet the unique needs of each of our seniors.
Premier Health Care has gained an outstanding reputation among its clients and health care professionals by providing exceptional care. We know that last minute changes and emergencies can happen. Our clients know that we are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Free in-home needs and safety assessment
We offer free in-home consultations and safety audits by a registered nurse who will ask questions, listen to your specific concerns, address any questions of family members, and make recommendations for optimizing care and safety.
Our Caregivers
Premier Health Care Caregivers are compassionate and reliable with a strong desire to help people and with strong qualifications and experience in home health care. Because our reputation depends on the quality and performance of our Caregivers, we are highly selective. All Caregivers on our staff are thoroughly screened and CORI checked. We require prospective Caregivers to provide references that are checked through multiple sources. We understand that each individual has different needs, which is why we personalize each care plan to fit each specific need. Each of our Caregivers is someone we would trust with our own loved ones. All are licensed, insured and bonded.

Gillian MacDonald, R.N.
Founder & Executive Director
Gillian MacDonald is the Founder and Executive Director of Premier Health Care. She has over 30 years of experience in the health and wellness industry. Born and raised in a small town, Kilrush, County Clare on the West Coast of Ireland, she knew at a young age she wanted to be a nurse. Having worked many school vacations as a nurse helper in her local hospital, she was inspired by the staff that worked there. Seeing their compassion, dedication and hard worked encouraged her to apply to Nursing School and she was accepted to the Meath Hospital School of Nursing, Dublin, Ireland. Gillian proudly graduated as a Registered Nurse in 1980, working as an ER Nurse. In 1980, she immigrated to Boston, where she has been specializing in elder care ever since.
Gillian is a highly motivated individual who, along with her dedicated administration and staff at Premier Health Care, is committed to providing care and support that will enable clients to reach their highest level of health, comfort and function.
In her spare time Gillian enjoys spending time with her family, especially her 3 grandchildren. Traveling, Exploring Maine and volunteering in her local community.
John MacDonald
Vice President & Controller
John H. MacDonald is the Vice President and Financial Controller of the company. A Boston University graduate, he brings more that 25 years in diverse tax, financial and business consulting experience to his role as Financial Controller. He is responsible for all accounting activities, including financial accounting, cost accounting and data processing related to corporate accounting and payroll. John has gained extensive accounting experience through senior accountant and management roles for companies in the Boston area. He has expertise in consulting and supporting computerized accounting systems. John enjoys boating, traveling and spending time with his family.
Emma Daniels
Assistant Vice President
Emma Daniels is the Assistant Vice President of Premier Health Care. She is a graduate of Mayoralty College, Galway, Ireland. After graduation, Emma launched her career in Newton, MA where she worked as a Montessori teacher. In 2008, she joined Premier Health Care, managing day-to-day operations. Her excellent management skills ensure that operations are always running smoothly. She is also very passionate about healthcare. She enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
Our home health aides and certified nursing assistants can assist clients with the activities of daily living, monitor and report on their general well-being, and encourage independence in their daily lives.
They can provide companionship at home, reading and writing letters for the client, doing puzzles and other in-home activities, and assisting with outings such as going to luncheons or to the movies.
Our RN’s and LPN’s use clinical judgment to protect, promote and optimize health, prevent illness and injury, alleviate suffering and advocate in health care for clients and families. Their services include:

Premier Health Care provides homecare services in the Boston area, including the North Shore, South Shore, Greater Boston and Metro West on an as-needed basis, for a minimum of 4 hours per day, up to 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, live-in or live-out.

Premier Health Care currently serves nearly 30 communities in the Greater Boston area and we are committed to growing at a pace which allows us to maintain our high standards of caregiving and customer service.
When we hire a new Caregiver, we look for someone who is exceptional: a good communicator, empathetic and passionate about caring for people. Previous experience in the position and excellent references are required. It takes a very special, patient and capable person to care for the elderly or those with challenging health issues. They depend upon us to be caring, vigilant and proactive in order to keep them safe at all times.
